Peewee 57’s win home silver

The Swift Current AAA Peewee 57’s hosted a nine-team home tournament over the weekend and won silver with a 4-1 record.

The 57’s opened the tournament on Friday against the Sask 5 Giants and emerged with a 12-11 win. They also played Melville that night and won 8-4.

Riley Bowers had a big night with a home run to go along with a strong outing on the mound. Connor Choo-Foo also helped out with a game-winning triple and pitched as well.

Saturday, the 57’s faced the Saskatoon A’s and won 11-5. Ben Patenaude pitched a complete game and Bowers continued to swing a hot bat with two home runs.

They concluded the round robin against Muenster on Sunday and won 10-7 to wrap up an unbeaten round robin run.

The championship game featured the host 57’s and the Saskatoon Cardinals and it was the visitors who emerged with a 12-2 win to claim gold.
