57’s open WMBL season on ‘Night of Champions’

The Swift Current 57’s will make their season debut in the Western Major Baseball League tonight. Sporting a new name, logo, and team colours, the 57’s will open their championship defense at home on against the visiting Moose Jaw Miller Express at 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Field.

They will also host the Melville Millionaires on Saturday and Sunday. The 57’s will visit the Yorkton Cardinals on Monday and then host the Lethbridge Bulls on Wednesday. The 57’s expect to have five returnees from the team that won all nine playoff games to bring home the 2016 WMBL championship.

The 57’s will be featuring all Swift Current athletes who have captured provincial or league titles in the past year at the team’s home opener.
