The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires lost their final game of 2024 to the host Regina Pat Canadians on Saturday.
The Legionnaires lost 5-3 in a showdown between two of the league’s top teams. Mason Fauser led the Legionnaires with one goal and one assist, while Connor Rieger had two assists. Jake Hargrave and Triston Mitchell-Mcelhone also scored. Wesley Olson added one assist. Cade Mitchell made 22 saves in a losing cause.
Jonah Sivertson led Regina with two goals and one assist. Cooper Bratton, Brodie Bowen, and Ethan Dundas also scored. Taylor Tabashniuk made 28 saves in goal.
The Legionnaires will finish the year in third spot in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League with a 19-6-0 record. Regina improved to 20-5-2 in second spot behind the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Legionnaires will return to league action on Jan. 5 when they visit the Saskatoon Blazers.
