Broncos take division lead with road win

The Swift Current Broncos took over top spot in the Central Division with a road win on Tuesday.

Conor Geekie was in on all four goals as the Broncos defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 4-2 for their third straight win. The Broncos passed the Medicine Hat Tigers for the division lead and still hold two games in hand as they control their playoff fate.

Geekie scored his 38th and 39th goals of the season and helped set up goals from Peyton Kettles and Luke Mistelbacher.

Ryder Ritchie and Niall Crocker replied for the Raiders.

Reid Dyck was outstanding in goal with 27 saves for his 12th straight win. Max Hildebrand took the loss with 22 saves.

The Broncos finished one-for-two on the power play and killed off both shorthanded situations.

The Broncos will return home to face the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday before a rematch in Medicine Hat on Sunday.

Bronco Bits: Geekie was plus-three in the game and is now tied for the WHL lead at plus-49. His 11-game point streak now includes eight goals and 16 assists. Clarke Caswell had two assists and now has 12 points during a seven-game point streak. The Broncos have now won 10 of 11 games since Feb. 14.
