In September 2023, Gravelbourg RCMP received a report of sexual offences involving a male youth.
Investigation determined an adult female, who was a teacher’s assistant at Ecole Gravelbourg School, committed offences involving a teenaged male, who was a student of the school.
After a lengthy investigation, on November 16, 2023, Saskatchewan RCMP arrested and charged Dannica Lowes of Moose Jaw, SK with:
• One count, sexual assault, Section 271, Criminal Code;
• One count, sexual interference, Section 151, Criminal Code;
• One count, luring a child, Section 172.1(2), Criminal Code;
• One count, making sexually explicit material available to a child, Section 171.1, Criminal Code;
• One count, invitation to sexual touching, Section 152, Criminal Code; and
• One count, possession of child pornography, Section 163.1(4), Criminal Code.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Assiniboia on December 14, 2023 (Information #90402187).
Thorough and sensitive investigation into reports of sexual based offences is an utmost priority for the Saskatchewan RCMP. As part of this investigation – and any other investigation into reports of sexual assaults against children or other vulnerable populations – Saskatchewan RCMP will work to determine if there are additional victims.
