Swift Current Fire Department crews were dispatched to senior living structure fire in the 100 block of McIntosh Street at 1:56 PM on Sunday, March 9.
Upon arrival, firefighters were directed to a fire in the roof space. Crews worked efficiently to gain control of the situation, and the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing it from extending to adjoining living units. Significant salvage and overhaul activities were conducted. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
A total of three (3) vehicles responded to the incident, with ten (10) personnel on scene comprised of six (6) career firefighters and four (4) auxiliary members. Other agencies responding to the incident were the RCMP, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), SaskEnergy, SaskPower, and City Light & Power.
The cause is currently under investigation.
