PROVINCIAL SOCCER

The SCCHS Ardens were in Yorkton for the SHSAA provincial soccer championship on October 27-28. They won their quarter-final game against Regina Winston Knoll (1-0).  It was a dramatic victory. There was an awesome save by Ardens goalkeeper Olami Akinfiresoye on a late penalty kick to seal the win.

The Ardens played Saskatoon Holy Cross in the semi final and lost 4-0. That put the Ardens into the bronze medal match against their season long nemesis Yorkton Regional.  The Swift Current team battled hard, but lost by a heartbreaking score of 1-0. Being the fourth place team in 5A girls soccer is an awesome accomplishment.

Saskatoon was the host site for the 5A SHSAA provincial boys soccer championship. The SCCHS Colts lost their first game to Regina Campbell 3-0.  They dropped to the consolation bracket and played Princ Albert St. Mary on Saturday morning.  The Colts lost 4-0 and were eliminated from the provincial tournament.

9-MAN FOOTBALL

The Shaunavon Shadows played in the SHSAA Provincial quarterfinals versus Indian Head. The Shadows left no doubt that they are a team on a mission, winning 26-6.

They will now host Melfort in the Provincial semi-final on Saturday, November 4.
