Stark & Marsh and Innovation Federal Credit Union are thrilled to announce that GoGreen 2023, the City’s beloved beautification project, will take place on September 15th in Swift Current. In partnership with The City of Swift Current, GoGreen has become a staple event in our community, contributing over 3,500 trees and shrubs to enhance our surroundings. This year, we anticipate planting an additional 675 trees, shrubs, and perennials across various project sites.
The 2023 GoGreen project sites include the Plewis Automotive Group Inclusive Park, Memorial Park, City Ball Diamonds, Flag Court, Kiwanis Park, Douglas Drive, Gladstone, Memorial Cemetery, Elmwood Park, Chinook parkway – multi-site cleanup, and the former Ashley Park School grounds. Volunteers will be actively involved in tree and shrub planting, mulching, flower bed maintenance, pathway cleanup, past GoGreen site maintenance, and garbage picking. We encourage businesses to participate by utilizing their staff resources, alongside members of the community at large.
Darcy Congdon, DOO of Stark & Marsh, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are really excited to celebrate another year of GoGreen in the community. GoGreen provides excellent opportunities for likeminded businesses and community members to actively participate in a day dedicated to enhancing our community through beautification projects. It is truly fulfilling to witness the transformation of previous project sites and realize that you have contributed significantly to a remarkable community endeavor.”
Daniel Johnson, CEO of Innovation Federal Credit Union, added, “We are delighted to celebrate our sixth year as event partners and witness the increasing enthusiasm and dedication among our staff and community to contribute towards building a more sustainable future in Swift Current. GoGreen is an extraordinary endeavor, and the significant impact we achieve within the City in just one day is an achievement that all participants can take immense pride in.”
Swift Current Mayor Al Bridal expressed his thanks to the event’s co-organizers, saying, “We express our deep gratitude to our valued community partners, Stark & Marsh and Innovation Federal Credit Union, for their remarkable contributions to our community. We are truly fortunate to reside in a city of such beauty, and with initiatives like GoGreen, the beauty of what can be achieved in just one day with some teamwork, is really something to see.”
Volunteers are invited to register for all GoGreen shifts, which will take place in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the afternoon from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at starkmarsh.com/gogreensc. As a token of appreciation, all volunteers will be provided with a complimentary lunch, accompanied by live music, at Market Square from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The public is also welcomed to attend the BBQ for a $5 donation, with proceeds going to the local Salvation Army Foodbank.
Stark & Marsh and Innovation Federal Credit Union eagerly anticipate seeing the community come together for GoGreen 2023, as we continue our commitment to creating a more beautiful and sustainable Swift Current.
