A pair of Southwest beach volleyball teams won silver medals at Sask Volleyball Provincials in Regina on August 12-13.
Swift Current’s Aleni Tsougrianis and Madison Yates improved upon their 2022 bronze medal with silver in the 16U Girls Division.
They topped the round robin with a 3-0 record to earn a quarter-final bye and then won the semi-final before losing a tight three-set championship match.
Swift Current’s Marie Tsougrianis and Ponteix’s Sierra Ross were second in the round robin with a 2-1 record. They defeated Oxbow in two sets in the quarter-final-final before defeating a Saskatoon pairing on the quarter-final in straight sets as well.
Tsougrianis and Ross fell to a Lumsden team in the championship match in three sets to settle for silver once again.
The teams were coached by Shawn Heibert and Charlene Heuer.
