The U13 Rampage Lacrosse team brought home the provincial championship over the weekend in Moose Jaw, in a thrilling come from behind win over the Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux.

The Rampage made their way to the gold medal game by way of round robin wins over Moose Jaw (6-2) and Regina Warriors (10-7), before falling to a tough Standing Buffalo team (7-2) to finish up the round robin.

In the gold medal game, the Rampage showed determination in fighting back after trailing 3-1 through two periods, scoring seven goals in the final frame to power them to an 8-5 win.

Jackson Simpson scored the first two goals to get the Rampage going, Nixon Friesen added a hat trick, while Josh Woods, Blake Simpson and Jax Brown also scored for the Rampage. Caylum Greenley got the win in net for the Rampage.

Jax Brown was further named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, his second MVP of the week as he was also named MVP of the “A” Division Provincials on Wednesday when the U13 South Sask Stealth took home Gold. Brown, Friesen, Simpson, and Woods were all members of that Championship squad as well.
