The Swift Current U13 Sonic Girls won all six games to claim gold at the Moose Jaw U13 A Fastpitch Tournament over the weekend.
Saturday saw the girls earn a 20-5 win over the Regina Royals Riptide and a 12-4 victory over the Moose Jaw Lightning.
Sunday, the girls ended the round robin with a convincing 17-7 win over the Moose Jaw Explosion.
Quarter-final action pitted the girls against the Moose Jaw Thunder and the girls battled to a 10-3 victory. The girls met the Muenster A’s in the semi-final and held on for a 14-4 win.
The girls faced their toughest opponent, the Moose Jaw Howlers in the gold medal game. The 13U Sonic came from behind to grab a 5-3 win in a tight seven-inning game.
Next action for the U13 Sonic team will be Saturday when they host the Rawlings Grand Slam League with games at 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
