The Swift Current Broncos had no answers for Sam Steel and the host Regina Pats in a 7-0 loss Friday.
The Broncos lost for the fifth straight game against the host Pats when Steel opened the game with a natural hat trick and finished with four goals and one assist. Jeff De Wit, Nick Henry, and Connor Hobbs also scored and Tyler Brown got the shutout with 15 saves.
Jordan Papirny took the loss with 32 saves on 37 shots over 42:55. Taz Burman made 12 saves on 14 shots over 17:04.
The Pats improved their WHL leading record to 44-9-6-1. Swift Current remained third in the East Division with a 30-19-4-6.
The Broncos are in Moose Jaw Saturday to face the Warriors.
