Broncos lose second straight on the road

The Swift Current Broncos dropped their second straight road game in a 5-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors Saturday.

One day after being shutout 7-0 to the Regina Pats, the Broncos allowed three unanswered goals in the third period to the Warriors. They outshot the Warriors 15-8 in a scoreless first period, but then were outshot 35-12 over the final 40 minutes.

Noah Gregor and Josh Brook scored for the Warriors in the second period, but Ryley Lindgren and Glenn Gawdin scored 26 seconds apart in the final minute of the period to tie the game for the Broncos.

Tanner Jeannot, Thomas Foster, and Brayden Burke all scored for the Warriors in the third period.

Jordan Papirny took the loss with 38 saves on 43 shots. Zach Sawchenko earned the win with 25 saves.

The Warriors moved 12 points ahead of the Broncos with a 37-17-7-1 record. The Broncos remain third in the East Division with a 30-20-4-6 record.

The Broncos will return to Regina Sunday for their third road game in as many days.
