Swift Current’s Dylan Mortensen was named the Canada West Volleyball Player of the Week after another dominant weekend with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
The 6’8” outside hitter had 17 kills in a 3-1 loss to the unbeaten Mount Royal Cougars on Friday. He added five digs and two blocks as well.
Saturday, the fifth-year Huskie added 23 kills, nine digs, and three blocks to defeat the Cougars.
Mortensen is second in the conference with 120 kills this season and third with 140.5 points.
The Huskies are currently fourth in Canada West with a 5-3 record. They will visit Thompson Rivers on Nov. 25-26.
