Colts win season finale

The Swift Current Comp. Colts produced a dominant win on home turf to conclude the season on a winning note.

The Colts defeated the Moose Jaw Vanier Vikings 50-7 to place fifth in the SHSAA 12-Aside Rural Football League. The Colts had finished fifth in the regular season with a 2-4 record before defeating the sixth-place Vikings to claim the Tier 2 Championship.

The Colts racked up 565 yards of total offense, including 442 yards along the ground. They also won the turnover battle as they recovered two fumbles and had two interceptions without turning the ball over.

The Colts defense allowed 196 yards of rushing and limited the Vikings to one completion for 15 yards.

Derric Dulatre led the Colts with three touchdowns as he caught two passes for 83 yards and ran the ball five times for 54 yards.

Jarron Reid ran the ball seven times for 152 yards and one touchdown. Ryder Smith ran the ball for 131 yards and a touchdown. Riley Wingert also had a touchdown as he ran for 53 yards and caught one pass for 16 yards. Kye Griffin had two field goals and kicked six extra points.

Elijah Siemens completed six of 10 passes for 60 yards for the Colts.

Jayden McBlain and Nathan Williams had interceptions for the Colts.
