Colts place second in tournament debut

The Swift Current Comprehensive High School Senior Colts volleyball team opened the 2022 season with a silver medal at the 12-team St. Mary Invitational in Prince Albert.

On Friday, they came out of their pool ranked second with a 2-1 record with wins over Osler VCA, Bellevue, and a loss to Prince Albert Carlton. 

On Saturday, the Colts won playoff matches against St. Mary’s grade 11’s, Meadow Lake, and the semi-final match against St. Mary’s 12’s (25-27, 25-15, 15-9). They lost in three sets in the final to Saskatoon Centennial (26-24, 23-25, 13-15).

The defending 5A provincial champions are in action again next weekend when they travel to Meadow Lake.
