Kalan Lind was part of a dominant Team Canada that won gold at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Red Deer.

The Shaunavon product helped Canada win all five games while securing its 23rd summer under-18 gold medal, capped by a 4-1 win over Sweden on Saturday.

Canada skated through the round robin with a 14-0 win over Switzerland, a 9-1 win over Slovakia, and a 3-0 win over Sweden before defeating Finland 4-1 in the semi-final.

Lind, 17, scored during the victory over Slovakia. It was a hometown victory of sorts for Lind, who has played the past two seasons for the Red Deer Rebels. He registered 20 goals, 18 assists, and 93 penalty minutes in 61 games last season with the Rebels. The former sixth overall pick in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft added six points in 10 playoff games.
