Environment and Climate Change Canada has confirmed that a tornado touched down in the Southwest when a band of severe thunderstorms passed through the region.
The tornado is reported to have touched down at a property approximately five kilometres northeast of Rheinfeld at around 5:40 p.m. on June 20.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has rated the tornado as an EF-0 tornado, meaning the winds ranged between 105 and 137 kilometres per hour during its brief touchdown.
