Swift Current’s Tim Vanstone has inked his first professional contract. Vanstone has signed on to join the Trois-Rivières Lions, the East Coast Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, the team announced on Thursday.
Vanstone recently wrapped up a five-year with the University of Calgary Dinos men’s hockey team with four goals and seven assists in the regular season before adding three points in the playoffs. The former Prince Albert Raiders captain concluded his Canada West career with 52 points in 98 games. He added nine points in 19 career post-season outings.
The 6’, 209-pound centre played in 299 regular season Western Hockey League games with the Raiders prior to joining the Dinos.
The Lions are currently third in the North Division with a 24-19-3-1 record in their inaugural season. They will visit the Newfoundland Growlers on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
