Poulter leads Broncos past Hurricanes

The Swift Current Broncos continued to have success against the Lethbridge Hurricanes this season with a 2-1 win on Saturday. Isaac Poulter made 25 saves for the Broncos as they improved to 5-1-1-0 against the Hurricanes this season.

After a scoreless first period, the Broncos opened the scoring when Cole Nagy shoveled home a rebound on a three-on-one midway through the second period.

The Broncos doubled the lead only 19 seconds into the third period when Connor Hvidston tapped home a perfect pass from Josh Davies on the rush for his fifth goal of the season.

Justin Hall cut the lead in half with 4:39 remaining in regulation with his 23 goal of the season, an easy redirect from the top of the crease.

Poulter improved to 14-14-3-1, while Jared Picklyk fell to 7–6-0-0 with 16 saves. 

The Broncos improved to 16-23-4-1 as they snapped a two-game losing streak, while Lethbridge fell to 17-19-2-1.

The Broncos will be on the road next weekend to visit the Brandon Wheat Kings and Winnipeg Ice.
