Broncos lose opening game of Alberta road trip

The Swift Current Broncos got out to a slow start on a three-game Alberta road trip with a 6-1 loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday.

The Broncos managed only 15 shots on goal and a  lone marker from Josh Filmon in the second period.

Arshdeep Bains, Kyle Masters, Kai Uchacz, Ben King, and Jhett Larson all scored for the Rebels, while Connor Ungar made 14 saves.

Isaac Poulter made 34 saves for the Broncos to fall to 9–8-1-1.

The Broncos fell to 11-14-2-1, while Red Deer improved to 18-9-1-1.

The Broncos will enter the holiday break with games in Edmonton on Friday and Saturday against the Oil Kings. Their next home game will be Dec. 27 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
