Hodgins and Gardner return to racing

The CMX Powersports Race Team returned to racing in Regina at the Moto Valley Raceway this past weekend. It was a two-day event Saturday and Sunday testing their endurance.

#199 Luke Hodgins had great starts all day on the Kawasaki KX250F on day  one, leading to a successful day with two sixth place finishes in the MX2 class for a sixth overall for the day moving him in to 12th in the series. The MX3 class would see a continuation off that success with another sixth overall.

First year rider Jesse Gardner would find himself in a battle for 16th finishing 16th in the first moto and his Kawasaki KX250F powering to a 15th in moto 2 of the MX2 class putting him in 17th overall for the year.

In the MX3 class he pushed to another 16th overall.

Hodgins started day two out with a great start but ended up burning up his clutch and was unable to finish the first MX2 moto, but followed it up with a sixth in the second moto for 13th overall.

MX3 class started out good with a sixth but the track started to deteriorate and got slippery making it hard to push at the end of the day leaving Hodgins with a ninth for seventh overall.

Gardner got off to a slow start in the MX2 with a 17th place but had a great second moto with an 11th for 14th overall. In MX3, he would place 17th in the first moto and did not go out for the last moto off the day.

Next action  for the team is September 12 in Saskatoon and then the season wraps up in Yorkton on September 25.
