Wills places second at Maple Leaf Junior Golf / Golf Saskatchewan Order of Merit (OOM) Championship in Warman

A total of nine Southwest golfers took part in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf / Golf Saskatchewan Order of Merit (OOM) Championship at The Legends Golf Club on August 28-29.

A pair of Southwest golfers placed second and third in the U15 Girls Division. Kyle’s Chloe Wills was second with rounds of 86 and 97 to finish 12 shots behind Regina’s Tayla Perry (83-88). Swift Current’s Niya Friesen followed in third spot with rounds of 90 and 95.

Four Southwest golfers took part in the 27-golfer Bantam Boys Division. Swift Current’s Ryder Woods led the way in 14th spot with rounds of 87 and 80 to finish 22 shots back of the lead. Swift Current’s Paxton Wallace and Ayden Ross tied for 20th in Warman. Wallace had rounds of 101 and 86, while Ross opened with a 98 and then improved to 89. Swift Current’s Dane Whitney had rounds of 117 and 95 to place 27th.

Warman’s Dane Giesbrecht won the Bantam Boys Division by two shots after carding rounds of 75 and 70.

A pair of Swift Current golfers were in the 30-man Juvenile Boys Division. Makstr McIntyre finished 13th with rounds of 82 and 77, 22 shots back of the lead. Swift Current’s Logan Lenz tied for 23rd with rounds of 88 and 81. Saskatoon’s Thomas Danielson won the division by three strokes with rounds of 70 and 67.

Gravelbourg’s Vincent Pinsonneault tied for 15th in the Senior Boys Division. He shot an 83 on day one and then trimmed five strokes for a 78 on day two. Wawota’s Theoren West won the division by three strokes with a 70 on day one and a 66 on the final day.
