The Swift Current Broncos acquired local netminder Jacob Herman from the Prince George Cougars on Monday.

In a swap of 2002-born goaltenders, the Broncos sent Jordan Fairlie to the Cougars in return for Herman.

Herman appeared in three games with the Yorkton Terriers last season with a 1-0-1 record, a 4.20 goals against average and an .874 save percentage. He played the previous two seasons with the Swift Current U18 AAA Legionnaires after coming up through the Swift Current Minor Hockey system. He also has two games of WHL experience.

Fairlie appeared in one game for the Broncos during the 2019-20 season. He played in seven games for the Prince George Spruce Kings last season, finishing with a 5-2-0 record with a 2.16 goals against average and a .907 save percentage in the BCHL.

The Broncos used two netminders during the 2020-21 regular season. Isaac Poulter is eligible to return for his overage season, while rookie Reid Dyck appeared in eight games during his debut season with the Broncos.
