Swift Current’s Hunter Lamb was named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Player of the Week after a productive return to the ice.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons’ overage forward finished with five points in two games against the Spruce Grove Saints over the weekend.

He scored one goal in a 4-3 shootout loss on Friday. Lamb finished with two goals and two assists in a 6-4 win on Saturday when he notched the game winner on the power play and an empty net goal in the third period.

The former Swift Current Legionnaires standout is tied for the league lead with five goals and is tied for third with nine points in six games.

Lamb began his AJHL career with 34 points in 55 games with the Lloydminster Bobcats in 2018-19. He registered 48 points in 55 games with the Oil Barons last season.
