Broncos add Slovakian defenseman in CHL Import Draft

The Swift Current Broncos selected Slovakian defenseman Oliver Fatul with the third overall pick in the CHL Import Draft on Tuesday morning.

The 2002-born blueliner stands 6’4’’ and weighs 179 pounds.  

The Bratislava native suited up for four different teams last season, including time in Slovakia and Finland. He played in 29 games for HKM Zvolen and registered two assists and 10 penalty minutes.

He also appeared for Team Slovakia U18, Tappara U18, and Tappara U20.

The Broncos added 6’2’’ forward Vladislav Demidovich with the 63rd overall pick. The 2002-born Belarusian registered 13 goals, eight assists, and 21 penalty minutes in 54 games with Team Belarus U18 this season.

The Broncos released import forwards Sergei Alkhimov and Matej Toman on Monday to make room for some new players.
