The Swift Current Drag Racing Association will finally get their 15th anniversary season underway this weekend with racing set for Saturday and Sunday.

After having their opening weekend cancelled due to COVID-19, the SCDRA will host two days of racing at the Swift Current Airport with a number of restrictions due to the pandemic.

Among the information pertinent to spectators is that no bleachers will be available for seating, but that extra space will be provided for social distancing. It is also not recommended that spectators travel into the pit areas. Spectators will also be required to sign a safety waiver form and fill out a COVID-19 pre-screening health check sheet. Masks and gloves will not be provided for spectators.

Portable washroom facilities will be available and disinfected frequently as will a concession, although users must maintain a two-metre distance while in line.

Racing is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The cost for spectators is $10 per day and children 12 and under will be admitted free.

The SCDRA also has racing scheduled for August 29-30. Visit www.scdra.ca for further information on the weekend and COVID-19 procedures.
