The Swift Current Broncos traded local prospect Wyatt Wilson to the Victoria Royals on Tuesday morning.

Wilson was drafted 116th overall by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The Broncos acquired him last May for Alex Thacker.

The 6’2’’ defenseman spent last season with the Moose Jaw Midget AAA Warriors and registered 33 points and 64 penalty minutes in 44 regular season games before adding two assists in six playoff outings.

Wyatt Wilson will join younger brother Anthony in the Royals’ system. Anthony Wilson was a third round pick of the Royals in the 2020 Bantam Draft.

The Broncos received a fifth round pick in the 2023 Bantam Draft in the deal.
