Broncos select defenseman in inaugural U.S. Prospects Draft

The Swift Current Broncos used the ninth overall pick to select defenseman Austin Moline in the first ever WHL U.S Prospects Draft on Wednesday.

Moline is a 6’1’’, 145-pound defenseman from Las Vegas, Nevada. He registered 18 goals, 14 assists, and 20 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U team this past season.

The Red Deer Rebels selected Shattuck-St. Mary’s Gracyn Sawchyn (Minneapolis, MN) with the first overall pick.

The Broncos added goaltender Owen Crudale with the 36th overall pick. The 5’9’’ netminder played for his hometown San Diego Saints 14U AA team this season.
