Four Southwest competitors won their events at the Warman Diamond Rodeo on June 7-9.
Hazenmore’s Chanse Switzer stood out in Warman with an event win in Bull Riding with 84 points aboard Feeling Blue for a $994 payday.
Maple Creek’s Brady Bertram played a staring role at the Diamond Rodeo when he won Bareback with a 78-point ride on Juice for $585.
Maple Creek’s Sydney Murphy also won Junior Girls Barrel Racing in 14.05 seconds for $270. Lily Wilson, also of Maple Creek, was fourth in 14.24 seconds for $67.
Kyle’s Kade Cheney added another win in Novice Bareback with 67 points for $178.
Two Mankota cowgirls finished in the top four spots in Ladies Barrel Racing. April Williamson was second in 13.69 seconds for $846. Karli Cowie placed fourth in 13.75 seconds for $592.
Only one Southwest cowboy was able to make it into the pay window in Team Roping. Hazenmore’s Ben Switzer worked with Matt Switzer (Moose Jaw) to place third in 4.8 seconds for $1,231.
Waldeck’s Tuftin McLeod finished in third spot in Tie Down Roping in 10.1 seconds for $495.
Tee McLeod was also third at the Diamond Rodeo when he finished Steer Wrestling in 5.3 seconds for $393.
Piapot’s Casey Bertram led the Southwest contingent in Saddle Bronc when he rode Black Jack for 69 points to tie for fourth and $227. Maple Creek’s Mike Gordon was right behind him in a sixth-place tie after a 68-point ride on Buttercup for $49.
There are CCA rodeos in Pilot Butte, Coutts, and Radville this weekend.
