Swift Current’s Griffin Wilson continued to be a consistent performer on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour with his second win of the season in North Battleford.
Two weeks after placing second in Lloydminster, Wilson won the Junior Boys Division by two shots at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club. He was second after the first round with an 80 to trail Warman’s Parker Noln Ens by two shots. Wilson trimmed two shots for a 78 on day two, while Noln-Ens shot an 82.
Wilson had won the first MJT stop in Saskatchewan in Estevan on May 19-20.
Swift Current’s Ethan Fizell finished 11th in the Juvenile Boys Division with rounds of 93 and 85. Local Colby Friedrich won the division with rounds of 80 and 81 to top the field by five strokes.
Swift Current’s Ryan McCleary tied for 11th in the Bantam Boys Division. He fired rounds of 95 and 88. Regina’s Will Blake topped the division by one stroke with rounds of 80 and 75.
The next MJT event in Saskatchewan will be on June 30 – July 1 at the Moon Lake Golf and Country Club.
