The Swift Current Bantam A Broncos lost game one of the SHA provincial final 3-2 in the Battlefords.
The Broncos had fought back from a 2-0 deficit, but Luke Kowerchuk scored for the Barons with only two seconds left on the clock to give the Barons a one-goal lead in the two-game, total-goal series.
Battlefords scored twice in the opening 3:38 of the game. Rhett Dekowny scored for the Broncos midway through the first period to cut the deficit in half. Brock Smith found the back of the net midway through the second period with an important goal to pull the Broncos even on the scoreboard. Cade Reich and Dayne Feicht picked up assists on the tying goal.
Game two will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Innovation Credit Union iplex.
