Team South West finished the fourth day of 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford in sixth spot in the medal standings with six gold, 10 silver, and eight bronze medals.
The latest gold medal for Team South West came from Swift Current’s Erin Andres. She earned a one-point victory to top the Weightlifting 75 KG + Female competition.
Swift Current’s Kenzie Gates added a silver medal in the Snowboard Slopestyle Day 1 U17 Female.
Also adding silver medals were Eric Swalm (Moose Jaw) and Aden Fawcett and Cam Ferguson (Caronport/Moose Jaw) in Figure Skating.
A Swift Current foursome brought home a bronze medal in Male Curling from the first half of the Games after defeating Team Regina 7-3 in the bronze medal game. Team Southwest was comprised of lead Quinn Doane, second Michael Orthner, third Grady Rogers, and skip Theo Lautsch.
Swift Current’s Daylin Olfert added a bronze medal in the Weightlifting 75+ KG Female competition as well.
Also, Swift Current Kabos Bantam AA Broncos’ forward Jaydon Jessiman (Lucky Lake) won silver with Team Prairie Central in Boy’s Hockey after losing 6-4 to Saskatoon.
The Winter Games have two days of action remaining.
