Team South West added to their medal count at the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford Tuesday.
Team South West had finished day one with four medals, but added eight more medals when the medals standings were updated Tuesday, including their first two gold medals of the Games.
Amongst the medals added to Team South West’s total was a gold medal from Swift Current’s Ghrandozz Aguilar in the 60+ KG Male Individual Judo competition.
Pense’s Harm Haase added a gold medal in the -40 KG Individual Male competition as well.
The Southwest added a couple of silver medals in the Individual Male Judo competition. Swift Current’s Conner Hammer was second in the -55 KG category and Moose Jaw’s Justin Weins placed second in -60 KG.
Team South West also won bronze medal in both the Male and Female Judo Team competitions.
Moose Jaw’s McKenna Brandt won bronze in Target Shooting Individual Air Pistol and Super Air Final Air Pistol.
Team South West finished day two in sixth in the medal standings with two golds, four silver, and six bronze medals.
Wednesday will be the final day of the first half to the Games. First half sports include Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Boy’s Curling, Gymnastics, Boy’s Hockey, Judo, Speed Skating, Synchronized Swimming, Target Shooting, and Weightlifting.
