The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats hosted the Notre Dame Hounds on Wednesday in their final home game of the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League regular season.
The Wildcats continued to struggle to find a way to beat the Hounds in a 2-1 loss to finish without a win in four attempts this season.
The Hounds finished two-for-five in the man-advantage, including the game winner from Jenna MacLean only 35 seconds into overtime.
Claire Nimegeers gave the Hounds the lead early in the second period, but Toni Theaker tied it midway through the stanza with assists from Sara Kendall and Taylor Lind.
Kaitlyn Ross picked up the win for Notre Dame with 22 saves. Amaya Giraudier made 25 saves for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats remain fifth in the SFMAAAHL at 12-9-1-4, while Notre Dame is third at 13-7–6-1.
The Wildcats will head to Saskatoon for their final two regular season games against the league leading Stars (19-3-3-1).
