The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats returned to Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action Wednesday against the Notre Dame Hounds. Playing their first league game in 17 days, the Wildcats lost 3-2 in overtime in Wilcox.
Claire Nimegeers scored three minutes into the second overtime to lift the Hounds to their second win of the season.
Taylor Lind and Carissa Hogan both scored on the power play for the Wildcats, while Lind picked up the only assist.
Amaya Giraudier took the overtime loss with 22 saves on 25 shots. Kaitlyn Ross made 35 saves on 37 shots for the Hounds, who improved to 2-0-2-0 on the season.
The Wildcats dropped to 4-4-0-2, third in the SFMAAAHL.
The Wildcats are back at home this weekend to host the second-place Prince Albert Bears (6-2-0-0) on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
