Swift Current’s Matty Schmiess won another golf tournament on August 29-30 at the
The Legends Golf Club in Warman.
Swift Current’s Matty Schmiess won the Juvenile Boys Division of the Maple League Junior Golf Tour event by two shots. He was five shots off the pace with a 75 in the opening round, but lowered his score to a 71 in the second round to take the win. Kyle’s Jace Wills was 13th with rounds of 85 and 75. Swift Current’s Max Gehl tied for 20th with rounds of 83 and 81. Shaunavon’s Kellen Ross tied for 26th with a 78 and a 90.
Swift Current’s Jace Munro continued his strong MJT season with another second-place finish in the Bantam Boys Division. He opened with a 75 and followed up with a 76 on the par-72 course. Dalton Stephens (Craik) edged him by three shots (73-75). Cadillac’s Jonah Bissonnette tied for fifth with rounds of 83 and 78.
Swift Current’s Hailey Bollinger finished sixth in the 15-19 Girls Division. She shot a 96 on day one and improved to a 94 on day two. Letian Liu (Warman) won the division by 10 shots on her home course (80-77).
MJT Mini Tour golf in Saskatchewan wrapped up on August 28 at the Wildwood Golf Course in Saskatoon.
Swift Current’s Jack Thoreson tied for fourth in the Boys 8U Division with a 112.
Swift Current’s Brynn Bollinger finished fifth in the Girls 9-10 Division with a score of 131.
Swift Current’s Soren Richards placed 10th in the Boys 9-10 Division with a 105.
