The Forge FC U15 Boys will play for gold in the Prairie Soccer League championship final.
Forge finished second in the table with a 7-4-3 record. They defeated Astra Soccer 3-0 in the semi-final on July 18 in Saskatoon. They will now face Saskatoon Alliance Blue in the championship match. Alliance Blue led the table with a 14-1-0 record.
The championship match will be played at 5 p.m. on Friday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina with a spot at Nationals on the line.
Forge FC is comprised of players from clubs from Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, and Weyburn.
The U15 Boys are led by Swift Current’s Mike Gurski and Griffin Striker. Their local players include Ari Parmar, Blayse Janzen, Finn Ostrander, Ihor Hrek and Colter Telke.
The Forge FC U17 Boys also made a playoff appearance this season. They finished fourth with a 4-5-3 record. They lost the semi-final 2-1 to first-place Saskatoon Alliance Blue on July 18 in Saskatoon. Swift Current’s Nicholas Munzara led the team with nine goals in 13 games.
The U15 Forge FC Girls were also fourth in the PSL table with a 5-5-2 record. They lost the semi-final 7-0 to the Saskatoon Alliance Black on July 18 in Saskatoon.
The Forge FC U13 Girls finished with a 2-7-0 record in the PSL this season.
The Forge FC West U13 Boys finished with a 1-11-0 record in the PSL.
