It was another dominant performance for the Swift Current Comp. Colts and Ardens at SHSAA Track and Field Provincials on June 5-6 in Saskatoon.
SCCHS won the 5A School title for a seventh straight season with a school record 869 points. SCCHS won eight gold medals, nine silver, and eight bronze medals.
The team was led by Jackson Tuplin, who won the Senior Boys aggregate title with 68 points. Tuplin won gold in the 100 Metre Hurdles in 13.80 seconds and Pole Vault when he cleared the bar at 4.30 metres. He also won silver in Long Jump with a jump of 6.39 metres and in the 200 Metres in 22.51 seconds.
The Colts’ Karlson Orthner won gold in the Wheelchair 100 Metres in 43.69 seconds and in the 400 Metres in 3:24.96.
The Ardens’ Laynee Rondeau won three silver medals at Provincials. She won silver in the Junior Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 12.44 seconds. She was also second in the 400 Metres in 1:01.27. Rondeau added silver in the 200 Metres in 26.83 seconds.
The Ardens’ Macey Tuplin won silver in the Intermediate Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 12.57 seconds. She added silver in the Pole Vault when she cleared the bar at 2.40 metres.
Olivia Dyrland two medals for the Ardens. She won bronze in Discus with a throw of 34.60 metres and in Junior Girls Shot Put with a 10.33-metre throw.
Ardens’ rookie Emmerson Wiens won gold in the Intermediate Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 12.54 seconds.
Colter Folk concluded his decorated distance running for the Colts with gold in the Senior Boys 3,000 Metres in 8:49.98, almost four seconds ahead of the next closest runner.
The Ardens’ Ellise Dyrland won gold in the Intermediate Girls Discus with a throw of 28.94 metres.
The Ardens’ Emily McCleary won gold in the Junior Girls Javelin with a top throw of 33.89 metres.
