The U13 Surge girls basketball team won B Division gold at the Battle of the Bridge tournament in Lethbridge over the weekend.
They earned victories over Calgary’s FYB and WIN and another win over Garden City Basketball Club.
Olivia Tsougrianis and Jayda Jago led the team in points, while Stella Thompson and Kinley Zakaluzny fed them with assists. Harrow Haubrich and Holli Filson pushed on defence, creating a lot of turnovers. The entire team contributed by being tough defensively and on offence.
Things really came together in this final tournament and Coaches Kaitlyn Thompson and Ashley Wagner couldn’t have been more pleased with the results.
