Seven Southwest competitors were in the money at the Rambler Rodeo in Tisdale on April 17-18 to open the 2026 Canadian Cowboys Association season.
Lafleche’s Weston Packet combined with Kobe Kmita (Weyburn) to win Team Roping in Tisdale in 6.4 seconds for $1,774.
Waldeck’s Tucker Danberg won Novice Bull Riding with 80 points to earn $370.
Chaplin’s Rhyker Vangen placed second in Novice Saddle Bronc with 61.5 points for $267. Mac Fawns (Foam Lake) won the event with 63 points.
Stewart Valley’s Austynn Knudsen also placed second in Junior Girls Barrel Racing in 13.44 seconds for $445. Jorja Salmond (Weekes) topped the event in 13.17 seconds.
Morse’s Tuftin McLeod finished second in Tie Down Roping in 12.8 seconds for $675. Blake Zieffle (Consort, AB) won the event in 10.0 seconds.
Beechy’s Allee Kapeller placed third in Ladies Barrel Racing in 13.36 seconds for $803. Lexi Cote (Yellow Grass) won the event in 13.13 seconds.
Maple Creek’s Tate Beierbach was also third in Steer Wrestling in 6.1 seconds for $378. Austin Whelpton (Virden) won the event in 4.9 seconds.
The CCA will be in North Battleford for the Kinsmen Rodeo on April 24-26.
The first CCA event in the Southwest will be the Dean Anthony Memorial in Mankota on June 12-13 and the Sandhills Rodeo in Lancer on June 13-14.
The Frontier Days Rodeo will take place in Swift Current on June 25-27.
