The Swift Current Broncos’ shootout woes continued on Wednesday in a 4-3 loss to the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

Parker Rondeau scored for the Broncos in the shootout, but Aiden Ziprick and Colt Carter quickly replied to clinch the win for the Warriors. The Broncos fell to 2-5 in shootouts this season.

The two teams had traded goals throughout regulation with the Broncos taking three separate leads, only to allow the Warriors to tie the game each time.

The Broncos opened the scoring midway through the first period when Anthony Wilson knocked a rebound home for his 14th goal of the season.

The Warriors tied the game 2:59 into the second period with a shorthanded breakaway goal from Casey Brown. The Broncos regained the lead when rookie Carter Moen scored on a centering feed from Sawyer Dingman. The Warriors tied the game again late in the second period when Kash Andresen scored from the slot. The Broncos replied only 42 second later when Brock Burch scored on a two-on-one rush, his third goal of the season.

The Warriors tied the game for a final time with a rebound goal from Dominik Pavlik early in the third period.

Archer Cooke made 30 saves on 33 shots to fall to 3-10-3-4. Chase Wutzke made 33 saves for the visitors.

The Broncos fell to 13-42-4-5, while the Warriors improved to 23-34-5-2, just a single point out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Broncos will visit the Saskatoon Blades on Friday and then host the Blades on Saturday in their second last home game of the season.
