Broncos edged by Warriors

The Swift Current Broncos ran into a hot goaltender on Wednesday in a 5-3 loss to the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

The Broncos fired 44 shots on goal, but Chase Wutzke made 41 saves to earn his 11th win of the season.

Moose Jaw took an early lead with a Pavel McKenzie goal, but Brendan Rudolph scored on the backhand to tie the game with his 13th goal of the season.

Moose Jaw counted three goals in the second period with William Degagne, Casey Brown, and Landen McFadden all scoring. Sawyer Dingman replied for the Broncos with a breakaway goal.

The Broncos got within one goal in the third period when Parker Rondeau knocked home his seventh goal. The Warriors iced the win with an empty net goal from Kash Andresen.

Archer Cooke made 29 saves for the Broncos, who fell to 12-33-3-0. Moose Jaw improved to 19-24-4-2.

The Broncos will host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday to wrap up a seven-game home stand.
