A pair of Swift Current United Soccer Club teams won gold in the Great Plains Futsal League this season. Five teams were in Moose Jaw for championship weekend and four teams advanced to the championship match.
The U18 United Boys won the championship with a 7-3 victory over Excelsior FC.
The United U18 Girls also won gold in Moose Jaw. They defeated Saskatoon’s Forza Yellow 7-2 in the semi-final. They edged Yorkton United FC 4-3 to clinch gold.
The U14 United Girls won their semi-final 5-0 over Regina’s QC United. They lost the gold medal match 4-0 to Yorkton United FC.
The U16 United Boys also placed second. They won their semi-final 5-0 over QC United. Swift Current lost the gold medal match 5-2 to Excelsior FC.
The U14 United Boys were eliminated in the the quarter-final with a 4-2 loss to the Humboldt Hurricanes.
