The Swift Current Broncos were shutout 4-0 by the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday to fall to 0-5 on the U.S. Division road trip.
Goaltender Xavier Wendt made 23 saves in the shutout and then scored into an empty net with 1:00 remaining in regulation. The rookie netminder became the 11th goaltender to score in the Western Hockey League.
Broncos rookie Aiden Eskit took the loss with 31 saves on 34 shots.
Connor Dale, Crew Martinson, and Gavin Garland also scored for the Americans.
Both teams finished zero-for-two on the power play.
The Broncos fell to 8-18-1-0 with their seventh straight loss. The Americans improved to 13-9-2-0.
The Broncos will conclude the road trip on Friday against the Spokane Chiefs.
