Broncos lose matinee to Blades

The Swift Current Broncos were a step behind all game in a 4-1 loss to the visiting Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday.

The Blades scored the only goal of the first period when Hunter Laing scored 13 seconds into a power play for his ninth goal of the season.

The Blades doubled the lead in the second period with a tap-in goal from Jack Kachkowski. The Broncos quickly got the goal back with a shorthanded goal from Trae Wilke as he jumped off the bunch to get behind the Blades for a breakaway goal.

The Blades sealed the win with third-period goals from David Lewandowski and Laing.

Joey Rocha fell to 7–8-0-0 with 49 saves. Evan Gardner made 22 saves to improve to 7-5-2-0.

The Broncos fell to 6–10-1-0 with a second straight loss. Saskatoon snapped a five-game losing streak while improving to 11-8-2-0.
