Swift Current Fire Department crews were dispatched to two separate calls on Saturday, October 25.
At 5:36 PM, they were dispatched to a residential patio fire on the 400 block of 7th Avenue Northwest. On arrival, crews found minor damage to the patio. Crews wet down the area to ensure the fire was out.
The second fire occurred at 10:13 PM, with crews responding to a vehicle fire on 11th Avenue Northwest and Highway 1. Crews quickly extinguished the fire with the road re-opening to traffic shortly afterward. The vehicle sustained significant damage.
No injuries were reported as a result of either fire.
One (1) vehicle responded to each incident, with five (5) career personnel on scene, as well as RCMP members and Emergency Medical Services.
Neither incident is under investigation. The Swift Current Fire Department would like to remind residents to ensure smoking materials are extinguished appropriately.
