The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires evened their record in the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League with a pair of road wins in Estevan over the weekend.
The Legionnaires won the opener 6-4 on Friday when Hunter Wilm assisted on all six goals. Kasey Gleim finished with three goals and one assist and Mason Fauser registered one goal and four assists. Trae Peterson and Kohen Ruedig also scored. Josh Benjamin earned the win with 25 saves.
Brendan Jones, Jaxon Sedor, Rhys Petersmeyer, and Joe Watson replied for the Bears. Jaxon Kuchinka and Evan Hutcheon combined to make 36 saves on 41 shots.
The Legionnaires completed the sweep on Saturday when they scored the opening three goals in a 6-3 victory. Kyle Bilokreli scored twice, while Porter Nickason added a goal and an assist. Peterson, Hudson Postnikoff, and Gleim also scored. Kohen Ruedig added two assists. Liam VanCaeseele, Jake Hargrave, Hunter Wilm, Ryder Leshures, Carter Schmidt, Fauser, and Ryder Wilm all added assists. Cade Mitchell earned the win with 30 saves.
Kuchinka took the loss with 29 saves on 35 shots. Jones, Gunner More, and Boston Schmidt scored for the Bears.
The Legionnaires (2-2) will visit the Tisdale Trojans for two games this weekend.
