A pair of Southwest athletes made their debuts during the opening day of the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador on Sunday.
Swift Current’s Mason Fauser and the Saskatchewan men’s baseball team defeated Alberta 8-1 on Sunday. Fauser played third base and singled twice, walked, scored two runs, and had one run batted in.
Saskatchewan will face Quebec and Ontario on Monday and British Columbia on Tuesday.
Swift Current’s Griffin Striker was on the field for Saskatchewan’s men’s soccer team in a 2-0 loss to Ontario. They will face British Columbia on Monday evening.
