The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires were unable to close out their Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League semi-final series on Monday in Moose Jaw in a 3-2 overtime loss.
The Legionnaires had won games one and two of the best-of-three series before losing game three. Kieren Osberg was the overtime hero with 2:47 remaining in the first overtime period.
Brennan Brown scored for Moose Jaw in the second period and then Hudson Sayers made it 2-0 in the third period. Carter Moen replied 43 seconds later for the Legionnaires with assists from Trae Peterson and Wesley Olson. The Legionnaires tied the game with 6:02 remaining when Peterson scored with assists from Kai Packet and Will Kirwan.
Berney Weston took the loss with 43 saves on 46 shots. Luke McKechnie made 39 saves for the Warriors.
Game four of the best-of-five series will be Wednesday in Swift Current.
